SEDUCING THE SUCCUBUS
Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance
This is the first in a new series aptly titled Sisters of Darkness. Ryan is extremely capable of weaving an imaginative plot with some seriously steamy scenes. For readers who enjoy angels, demons and the desires and politics of heaven and hell, this is a great read. While the romance between the heroine — who is actually quite spunky — and the hero falls a little flat, the series promises to be thoroughly enjoyable.
Jezebeth is a succubus demon, one of four sisters who work for the queen. It’s a simple enough job: drain souls and meet her monthly quota. However, a fallen archangel’s plan for revenge and a prophecy put her smack dab in the middle of a dangerous plot. Lilith, the Queen of the Succubus and Incubus, has sent a protector to escort her safely back home to Lilith’s lair.
Noah Halston never realized how much trouble a little research could get him into. Reading an incantation to summon Lilith, he’s astounded when she actually appears. He’s even more surprised when he’s faced with a choice: one night with her or he must forfeit his soul. Not interested in feeding a succubus, he finds another way out and agrees to find and escort Jezebeth to safety. Even knowing Jezebeth is a succubus, he cannot help but fall for her. Will he be able to keep her safe, retain his soul and not fall for this beautiful demon? (BERKLEY SENSATION, Oct., 336 pp., $15.00)
