Image of A Sensible Arrangement (Lone Star Brides)

This is a solid novel for fans of historical fiction. The relationship between Marty and Jake is surprisingly pleasant for the situation, and the information on the coming financial crisis of the early 1900s, although fictional, will resonate with readers. The ending is predictable and does not completely wrap up the story, but readers will look forward to the next in the Lone Star Brides series.

Marty Olson is still heartbroken over the death of her husband years ago. She wants nothing more than to leave Texas and the ranch that holds so many memories. She answers an ad to marry a wealthy banker in Colorado and hopes for the best. What she finds is more than she bargained for, and she might be falling in love with her new husband, Jake. However, Jake’s dreams of moving to Texas and owning a ranch are wearing on Marty, especially since she has kept her ranch a secret. Will she tell Jake the truth and risk losing him?
