SEX, LIES AND MISTLETOE (3) by Tawny Weber: In this edition of the Undercover Operatives series, DEA agent Tobias Black is sent back to Black Oak, the town founded by his law-skirting family, to investigate a new ecstasy drug that is being pumped out of the area. He meets Pandora Easton, another town native, recently returned to run her mother’s failing New Age boutique, which she has updated with the addition of a café that serves treats marketed as aphrodisiacs. Tobias can’t help but think that there may be a connection between the two, but he also can’t avoid the instant connection he and Pandora discover, and does everything he can to clear her name and crack the case. This promising storyline doesn’t quite deliver the sensual punch it ought to, but the pacing and characters will hold your attention.
