SHADES OF DESIRE
DePaul’s romantic suspense has shades of a thriller inside the pages, with damaged characters, love scenes that make the pages almost too hot to handle and hair-raising villains. Although the plot sometimes loses its flow, it’s still a very enjoyable read.
Recently blind Natalie Jones still turns to photography as a solace, but when she’s attacked in her home and unable to defend herself, the last thing she wants is to rely on crack agent Liam (Mac) McKenzie — especially because she wants more than she can ever have with him. Mac is determined to solve a grisly crime, which has just taken a whole new turn and involved Natalie, who is getting under his skin. When murder and mayhem bring Natalie and Mac together, they fight the attraction they have for each other while they fight to solve this case. (HQN, Jun., 384 pp., $7.99)
