SHADES OF MIDNIGHT

RT Rating

To kick off the action, Adrian moves this rapid-fire story to the icy Alaskan wilderness. Besides delivering wonderful paranormal romances, the Midnight Breeds series also continues to add complexity to the treacherous overarching scheme hatched by the series' major villain. A twist at the end could prove quite interesting. This is time well spent!

Alaskan bush pilot Alexandra Maguire is horrified when she discovers an entire family slaughtered by some unknown force. For Alex, this brings back terrible childhood memories she has long tried to bury.

Breed warrior Kade left his family compound in Alaska a year ago to head to Boston to help in the fight against the evil Dragos. Upon hearing about the slaughter in Alaska, Kade is sent back to discover the rogue responsible. What Kade discovers is twofold: first, that the feisty Alex is a potential breedmate, and second, that whatever is doing the killing is no ordinary rogue vampire. (DELL, Jan., 384 pp., $7.99)
