SHADOW PROTECTOR (4.5) by Jenna Ryan: Blue Ridge Police Chief Michael Logan must protect the only survivor of a serial killer as she struggles to remember what the killer looked like and bodies pile up around them. Sassy and spunky, Dr. Serafina Hudson can’t remember the face of the Blindfold Killer, but memory fragments are popping up. In the meantime, she’s stuck in a small town with a laconic sheriff who has a former hippie housekeeper with a dangerously addicted daughter, and an odd mix of residents, including a family of crazy mountain man brothers who’d do anything for a buck. Overall, a funny and engrossing read with fabulous characters.
