The fate of the D’Artigo sisters looks increasingly dire as the evil Shadow Wing launches yet another insidious attack. In Galenorn’s series featuring rotating heroines, it is vampire Menolly’s turn as narrator. From the outset Menolly has been the most damaged of the sisters, but she is finally coming into her own. Gifted Galenorn shows readers the developing emotional growth and self-acceptance of this determined heroine.

The D’Artigo sisters have been summoned to Otherworld for an important meeting with Queen Asteria. Sadly, the news is more like a warning: Shadow Wing has dispatched a malevolent necromancer named Telazhar to reignite the Scorching Wars. Back earthside they learn that Gulakah is attempting to wage a battle with dangerous ghostlike creatures. However, despite the dire circumstances, Menolly wants to proceed with her planned wedding to sexy werepuma Nerissa; but she can’t forget her commitment as consort to the Vampire leader.
