THE SHADOW OF YOUR SMILE
by Mary Higgins Clark

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Suspense

RT Rating

Clark's 29th novel is peopled with a rich cast of eccentrics, dastardly dudes, a forthright heroine and a conflicted hero who will keep readers turning the pages as a master storyteller deftly weaves the past and present together.

Olivia Morrow is struggling with whether to expose a long-held secret: her late cousin Catherine, a nun being considered by the Catholic Church for beatification, had a child out of wedlock with Alex Gannon. Catherine and Alex's granddaughter, Monica Farrell, may be the rightful heir to the Gannon fortune, but revealing the secret could destroy two families -- and any hope of Catherine's sainthood. Meanwhile, Alex's nephews and the Gannon Foundation board are squandering the money. As murder, extortion and attacks against Monica escalate, time is running out for Olivia to make a decision.
