SHADOWFAE
by Erica Hayes

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Urban Fantasy

RT Rating

This dark urban fantasy is a seductive tale of alternate reality in modern-day Melbourne. Hayes uses real settings as a backdrop as gangsters and killers mix with well-defined supernatural characters in an intriguing and tense first-person plot. Add in sizzling sex scenes and dark humor and this one will take you on a wild ride.

In a secret subculture of demons and bloodsucking gangsters, a succubus is trying to earn her freedom. Jade is on a mission to collect a soul, but Rajah, a 400-year-old incubus, gets there first. Their strong physical connection is hard to resist, but they're both after the same four souls that will release them from servitude. They can't both win, and Jade is forced to make a terrible choice. (ST. MARTIN'S GRIFFIN, Oct., 288 pp., $14.99)
