Readers will be transported back in time in Schnee’s debut. The book will pull you in, even if some of the content is disagreeable. The main characters do carry on an affair, but it also focuses on Emilia’s inner torment. A must-read for fans of this genre and those who want to read Christian fiction that’s unlike the typical romantic novel.

Emilia is one of the most stunning ladies at court when she meets and falls in love with William Shakespeare. This is a story about tenderness, grace and forgiveness, but also a glimpse into the deceit, lies and adulterous affair between Emilia and William. (GUIDEPOSTS, Jun., 360 pp., $13.99)
