If you wonder what might have
been if you'd made different choices, Garrett's book will definitely speak
to your heart. But the first-person
point of view is very limiting and
may not appeal to female readers
as much as to male readers. Still, as
a whole, this is an engaging novel.
Twenty years ago, a night of passion changed John Tilden's life forever. He chose to say goodbye to Samantha, his high school sweetheart, in order to marry Michelle, who was pregnant with his child. John still clings to regret and wonders how his life would have been different. Their 20th high school reunion is now upon them, and everyone returns to town. When the opportunity comes for John to make a different choice, what will he do? (DAVID C. COOK, May, 320 pp., $14.99)
