Women who struggle with comparison and strive for perfection will find a great deal of food for thought in Whalen’s latest novel. Realistic characters and a thought-provoking conclusion will inspire trust in God, the only true model of perfection.

Ariel Baxter moves into an upscale neighborhood with her three rambunctious boys and a husband who works and travels a great deal. Ariel struggles with keeping up with all of life’s demands. Then she meets her neighbor Justine, whose life seems perfect. Her children are calm, her home is immaculate and everything is organized. Is it real — or just an illusion? (DAVID C.
