Life has thrown Mary Beth Parker some curves. Now she's inheriting a dilapidated motel and restaurant just as she's at her most desperate and needs a place to stay with her daughter. One of four brothers, all named after outlaws, Sheriff J.J. Outlaw, still pines for his ex Mary Beth, though he's willing to act as a friend and help reestablish her back home. The Sheriff (4) has some great dialogue and description and unfolds naturally with a note of realism. Though many elements are familiar, Jan Hudson brings rich believability to her tale.
