THE SHERIFF’S DAUGHTER
THE SHERIFF’S DAUGHTER (4.5) by Kay Stockham: Having fought his attraction to Caroline “Carly” Taggert — his boss’s daughter — for too long, Deputy Liam McKenna finally gives in to his desire. But with the sheriff away on vacation, Liam’s feeling guilty that he’s taken his promise to look after Carly a bit too far. When Carly decides to take in foster children against both Liam’s and her father’s wishes, Liam’s own past as a foster child makes him determined to show her the error of her ways, which only causes more tension in their new relationship. Stockham’s story is fraught with deep emotions , and she does an excellent job of depicting Carly’s frustration and anger, just as she also accurately shows Liam’s fear and refusal to live in the past.
