Jennifer Williams is back in Blossom after eight years, and she's standing in a pigpen at the county fair when she hears the laugh of Sheriff Trace McCabe. As teenagers, Jennifer and Trace were briefly married, before a miscarriage and then an annulment. A slipup on paperwork brings a surprise and a second chance. Impressive depth characterizes this story, and Jennifer and Trace uncover similarities and differences as they get to know each other again. Jennifer's adopted son Zach, who is deaf, will steal your heart. The Sheriff Wins a Wife (4.5) by Jill Limber is a poignant, beautifully written tale about healing, second chances and coming home. A keeper!
