SHE'S NO ANGEL
A couple of intriguing mysteries and a delightfully sweet secondary romance make this a wonderful story. In this new installment in the Trouble, Pa., series, Kelly keeps the main romance on track while creatively including other story threads. The characters are captivating and have real depth and substance.
Mortimer is worried that his police officer grandson is becoming too hardened, so he sets to work to find him a woman. He chooses Jennifer Feeney, the niece of the miserly, very odd, slightly insane sisters Ida Mae and Ivy. When Michael comes to visit his grandfather in Trouble, Pa., he and Jennifer strike sparks that continue to grow when they both return to their respective jobs and homes in New York City.
When an apparent stalker moves
beyond letters and phone calls to breaking and entering, Jen and Mike move to being lovers. But Jen is sure two such opposites -- a bossy, he-man-type cop and an independent author -- can have no future. (HQN, Jul., 384 pp., $6.99)
