THE SHIFTERS (4.5) by Alexandra Sokoloff: Shapeshifter guardian Caitlin MacDonald must work with shifter Ryder Mallory to stop disembodied spirits from taking over and burning out (killing) people — both supernatural and “normal” — in New Orleans, even though Caitlin distrusts all shifters. But when Caitlin becomes the target of one of the spirits, she must rely on Ryder’s help in spite of her distrust. While battling the ancient evil, Ryder and Caitlin also fight an attraction. The sexual tension and nonstop excitement make The Shifters a must-read. Sokoloff nicely includes a moral on not allowing our prejudices to rule us.
