Barnette’s wonderfully drawn-out sex scenes are both bold and imaginative, much like the daring characters themselves, yet full of emotional intensity as Honoria decides she wants both her lusty stranger and her much-loved tutor. Although they have never met before, it becomes apparent right away that Esau feels almost grateful to have been chosen by Honoria. He’s a good guy, helping her understand who and what she really wants from life.

Honoria has been deaf since childhood, and with only one week left before she must leave for France, she is determined to know pleasure before all opportunity is lost. Since Jude, her longtime tutor and translator, doesn’t seem interested in helping, she formulates a fairly simple plan: choose a stranger and offer him the indecent proposal of five days and nights to live out her every fantasy.
