Author(s):

Childs' Teashop mysteries are strong with charm, atmosphere and vividly portrayed characters. Her latest also has some spooky scenes and an exciting end. Realistic dialogue and scenes are not necessarily the point of a cozy, and they aren't strong here, but this is a very enjoyable story with lots of details about tea and slices of humor. This a popular series for good reason.

Theodosia Browning and the staff of the Indigo Tea Shop are catering events for the first Charleston Film Festival. Hollywood celebrities are in town, and when a famous director is shot at the opening gala, Theodosia is again embroiled in murder. Recipes follow the story, and some teatime tips round everything out. (BERKLEY PRIME CRIME, Mar., 288 pp., $23.95)
