There is definitely no place like home in Douglas’ newest Delilah Street adventure. Throughout this series, Delilah’s origins and past have been somewhat shrouded in mystery; finally readers and Delilah get some answers. Award-winner Douglas places her heroine on a gut-wrenching road trip that forces her to face her deepest fears. This yellow brick road leads to zombies, vampires and witches … oh my!

Despite having faced danger in Sin City and triumphed, what really has Delilah scared is returning to Kansas. But Delilah agreed, so here she is on a road trip in her ‘56 Caddy named Dolly, with her boyfriend Ric Montoya and her wolf/wolfhound Quicksilver. Both Delilah and Ric are still recovering from their last almost deadly adventure, but for Delilah the true horror lies ahead: discovering and facing what happened to her when she was a child. Upon their arrival, they meet up with Ric’s ex-FBI buddy Leonard Tallgrass, who is very interested in a cow mutilation story Delilah did just before she left. The immense new Emerald City hotel and casino appears to be caught up in the action as Delilah and Ric attempt to uncover who is using all the zombies, and what exactly they are after.
