A SIMPLE AMISH CHRISTMAS
Chapman pens a solid debut novel set in an Amish community. Relatable topics allow the reader to see God at work. While there is little out of the ordinary, this is a pleasant read.
While on her rumschpringe, Annie Weaver receives her nursing degree. Upon learning that her father was in an accident, Annie returns home and realizes it is where she belongs. Local doctor Samuel Yoder has had a difficult past. Remembering a younger, immature Annie, he doubts her ability to care for her father. While his words cause Annie to question her ability, she strives to be her best. Annie’s mom believes God will find a way to use her knowledge in their community. Will Samuel learn to view Annie in a new light and allow his heart to soften? (ABINGDON, Dec., 273 pp., $13.99)
