Book Review

by Sara Bennett

Genre: Historical Romance, England
Sensuality: HOT
Setting: 1838 England

RT Rating

Book four in Bennett’s The Husband Hunters Club series blends seduction, spying, secrets, society and danger. Even if the reader is not emotionally engaged with the characters, and the story is a bit repetitive, Bennett’s spry plot will hold the reader’s interest.

Miss Clementina Smythe considers herself to be practical and levelheaded. With her family facing financial ruin, Tina sets out to hire the rakish Richard Eversham to teach her the art of seduction. Richard, part of a secret society that protects the British government, decides to take the innocent Tina on as a client when she informs him she wants to seduce the man Richard believes killed his brother. As Richard tutors Tina, neither is prepared for the passion that flares between them. (AVON, Nov., 384 pp., $7.99)
