Divorced tuna farmer Regan Jantz isn't looking for another man -- her business and two young sons keep her quite busy. But she meets widowed attorney Chase Mattner and his daughter and can't help being affected by them. Friendship buds, flowering into love, and it feels like they've formed a family. Yet Chase hasn't completely recovered from his wife's death, and Regan wonders if he ever will. Claire Baxter's The Single Dad's Patchwork Family (3) has several strengths, among them the characters and the many flashes of humor. But the plot seems by the numbers, and there are really no surprises.
