This is the third and final book in Archer’s Hellraisers series, but readers will have no problem jumping right in. Sinner’s Heart is a slow burn of a love story, but when the passion ignites, there is no putting out the flames. With all the human flaws of greed, lust and other sins, the devil has plenty to play with. The series is an interesting allegory about temptation and its consequences. If this is your first encounter with the Hellraisers, you will definitely want to go back and meet the others. Sexy, stylish, intelligent fiction at its best.

Once a high-ranking soldier, Abraham “Bram” Stirling, Lord Rothwell, is one of the Hellraisers. Reveling in the company of sinners, his friends make sure he never sins alone. The devil promises each of the men a wish while they explore their power separately. Bram discovers he is magically bound to a priestess, Valeria Livia Corva, the woman who originally raised the devil, and who died to send him back. She is now a ghost, but that doesn’t keep Bram from being enchanted by her as she works to convince him he must become a soldier once again. (ZEBRA, Apr., 370 pp., $6.99)
