SINS OF THE ANGELS
by Linda Poitevin

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Urban Fantasy

RT Rating

The urban fantasy world just gained a highly promising new member with Poitevin’s debut release. The ancient schism between the angels and the fallen is the starting point for this intriguing series. Insidious plots and the power of free will threaten to set dark events in motion that could trigger the apocalypse. One part gritty serial killer story, one part bureaucratic espionage, Poitevin’s tale is a taut thriller that also works as the springboard for future adventures.

The last thing Detective Alex Jarvis needs is to be breaking in a new partner during the hunt for a grisly serial killer, but she has no choice when Jacob Trent is assigned to her. Alex is more than a little disturbed at what she glimpses in Trent’s eyes, plus the flash of what appears to be wings. Aramael (aka Trent) is a Power — a hunter of fallen angels — who has had little contact with humans. He is angered that he has been assigned to protect Alex, for her bloodline is that of the hated nephilim. Nevertheless Aramael is the only one who can stop the killer, his fallen twin brother Caim. But there is more going on here than meets the eye. (ACE, Oct., 336 pp., $7.99)
