SIX NAUGHTY NIGHTS
This second book in the Love In Reverse series picks up with the group preparing for a wedding. The references to the first storyline are frequent, yet they don’t distract the reader from the characters introduced here. The characters dither a bit about their emotions, but the love scenes are worth the effort.
When Toby left Esther at the airport in Fiji, she was so hurt that she decided to keep her pregnancy to herself — easy, since they live at opposite ends of New Zealand. Three years later during an earthquake in Esther’s hometown of Christchurch, Toby rescues Esther and their son from a collapsing building. With no place to stay, Esther and Charlie accompany Toby home and the three bond as a family, but will it last? One thing that hasn’t changed is Toby and Esther’s mutual physical attraction, which they realize never ebbed when they try a role-playing game called Naughty Nights. Outside of the bedroom, Toby’s love for his son is growing each day, but Esther has to trust Toby not to leave her again. (SAMHAIN, Mar., 304 pp., $16.00)
