Sefton’s prose inspires on two levels: knitting and baking. Kelly Flynn and her fellow “yarnies” will make readers long for their own group of crafty friends, and even non-coffee drinkers will drool over the treats described in the latest Knitting Mystery. Even for a newcomer to the series, this is a satisfying, cozy read.

Kelly swears she is done with sleuthing, but when a young knitter is found dead near Kelly’s home, she has to help bring the killer to justice. It’s hard to find the time for an investigation, though — her friend Megan has recently become engaged and cannot find the perfect wedding dress, and her disapproving boyfriend Steve is about to lose his business thanks to the poor economy. Kelly may just find the girl’s murderer, but it could cost her everything and everyone she cares about. (PRIME CRIME, Jun., 304 pp., $24.95)
