SKIRMISHES
by Kristine Kathryn Rusch

Genre: Science Fiction, General Science Fiction

RT Rating

A combination of first-person and third-person narrative and flashback segments makes this a complex and compelling story. It’s like having three tales in one, with an added peek into the bad guys’ activities, all of them intriguing, classic science fiction. It leaves the reader eager to explore this universe again and see what will happen next with these characters.

Boss is attempting to enter the Boneyard and get more ships to help guard the Nine Planets Alliance against the Enterran Empire as well as discover what happened to Coop’s people. Meanwhile, Captain Jonathan “Coop” Cooper, from 5,000 years in the past, guards the Alliance border. As Boss and her crew endeavor to dive the Boneyard, the largest ship graveyard ever, Coop has his own problems. An Enterran warship, along with 14 other ships, has arrived at the border, led by a commander who wants revenge for what happened four years ago as well as for the recent destruction of Enterran research facilities.
