RT Rating

This book is a must even for those uninitiated in the paranormal genre. The story ends much too quickly, and the author's magical writing conjures up sensual images and intense emotions that linger long after the last word is read.

In the year 2079, Sascha Duncan is a cardinal Psy. To be a Psy is
to be unemotional -- conditioned to feel nothing. Since birth, Sascha has been hiding the fact that she's unlike the others. She has a flaw in her psyche, so she feels emotions.

The changelings also inhabit the Earth, their race unique because they allow their animal natures to rule them. Lucas Hunter is an alpha changeling in the DarkRiver leopard pack. He and Sascha are at first thrown together in a business deal and later drawn together to fight a terrifying menace.
Lucas makes Sascha feel long-denied emotions -- lust, jealousy and love. Has this changeling found his perfect mate? (BERKLEY SENSATION, Sep., 352 pp., $6.99)

Nalini Singh sets up a unique world in this futuristic paranoral romance. The world building is good and the characters are solid. The plot pulls you into the story and you just want more.

There are three races: the unemotional Psy, The dangerous Changeling and Human. The main focus in this first novel is on the interactions of the Psy and Changeling. There are some surprises.

The supporting cast is strong and makes you hungry for future books.

This is a good read.
