RT Rating

Second in Meyers’ uniquely wonderful western steampunk series, The Legend Chronicles, The Slayer continues to captivate. After reading The Hunter, this reviewer couldn’t wait to discover which brother would be featured next and Winn was worth the wait! A world with wall-to-wall action and adventure, Meyers is a genuine, fresh voice in the paranormal romance genre. Not to be missed!

Winn Jackson has mostly managed to stay clear of the family demon-hunting business. Preferring to uphold the law as a sheriff, Winn likes order. When he rescues the charming and graceful Contessa Drossenburg, Alexandra Porter, discovering she has fangs is a bit of a surprise. Far from being a helpless damsel in distress, she is trying to save her people, and she thinks Winn’s family legacy is the way to do it. As Winn and Tessa travel to her home in the mountains of Transylvania, he begins to change his mind about vampires and who deserves shooting. If Tessa has her way, Winn is going to do all he can to save her people, and the world. (ZEBRA, Apr., 352 pp., $6.99)
