D'Alessandro sets the stage for the Mayhem in Mayfair series with the adventurous Ladies Literary Society, whose members read Shelley, not Austen. Her sprightly humor lights up the pages, and you'll be sleepless until you reach the exciting and satisfying ending.

When her literary society reads Frankenstein, Sarah Moorehouse suggests they follow Shelley's lead and create the perfect man. Her task is to steal a shirt from their host, Matthew Davenport, Marquess Langston. During her midnight escapade Sarah spies the marquess digging in the garden. When she decides to investigate, she gets caught in his bedroom.

Matthew has no time for a curious chit. He has to find a hidden treasure and save his family from ruin. He wonders if it's best to seduce Sarah before she causes more trouble. The problem is she's tempting, smart and too mischievous to ignore. Matthew's about to learn that falling in love will lead him to his heart's desire and the answer to an old mystery.
