Book Review

SLICE OF CHERRY
by Dia Reeves

Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal

RT Rating

Twisted and creepy, this book is not for the faint of heart. Reeves sets no boundaries for herself, as readers witness the strange mind of a serial killer, possibly changing all perceptions of love and murder. Horrifyingly beautiful, the small, monster-driven town of Portero is rendered in the most captivating way.

Kit and Fancy, the “Bonesaw” killer’s daughters, do everything together — including kill. After Fancy discovers a Door to a secret realm, they begin killing only those who truly deserve it. Leaving no evidence behind, everything is going great until the mysterious Turner brothers, sons of their father’s last victim, turn their world of blood and fairy tales upside down. The girls will soon realize love can be even crazier than they are. (SIMON PULSE, Jan., 512 pp., $16.99, ISBN: 9781416986201, HC, 14 & Up)
