Book Review

SLIGHTLY MARRIED
by Wendy Markham

Genre: Mainstream, Chick lit

RT Rating

In her comical tale about the trials and errors encountered along the road to the biggest day in a young woman's life, Markham successfully weaves together colorful characters -- ranging from the fabulous gay friend to the uptight future sister-in-law to a bothersome old flame. Readers will delight in the main character's triumphs, share in her pain and overall enjoy the ride.

When Tracy Spadolini's longtime live in boyfriend, Jack Candell, finally proposes, she commences wedding planning immediately. But she's unprepared for the range of emotions it stirs up, the input and requirements other people have for her and the strain it puts on her relationship with Jack. Unresolved feelings for an ex-almost-boyfriend add just enough tension to make Tracy wonder if she can hold herself together long enough to make it down the aisle.
