The three stories in this intriguing collection have similar themes -- homecoming, redemption and rekindling lost love -- but each is very different from the others. All, however, are sexy yet sweet, and quite entertaining.
In McKenna's "A Healing Spirit," Marine pilot Tahcha Grant is the only survivor when her helicopter is shot down in Afghanistan. Back on the reservation to heal, she seeks help from medicine man Storm Black Horse, her teenage sweetheart. Finding the courage to take their second chance isn't easy.
In Summers' "Aunt Delia's Legacy," Dr. Carly Waring is home for the reading of her aunt's will. Carly and math teacher Ren Maxwell, the reformed bad boy Carly nearly eloped with nine years ago, inherit everything. Can true love still find a way?
In Altom's "Caught by Surprise," newly divorced Tabitha Summerwell returns home for a weekend of skiing. When she breaks her ankle, she comes face to face with her past -- Dr. Brodie Kimball. (HARLEQUIN, Jan., 288 pp., $5.99)
