Six years into an unsatisfying long- distance marriage, teacher Cath Morgan decides it's time to file for divorce. Then her husband Jake, a foreign correspondent, surprises her with a holiday visit. He doesn't share Cath's desire to end their relationship and does everything he can to persuade her to change her mind -- including sticking around to help clean up her aunt's old house. Eventually, Cath realizes she still loves Jake, but then he reveals a hurtful secret. Barbara McMahon's Snowbound Reunion (3) has a good plot and conflict, but the story unravels badly at the end, when both characters suddenly reverse deeply entrenched views without enough justification.
