A SOLDIER’S CHRISTMAS (3) by Leslie Kelly, Joanne Rock, & Karen Foley: Kelly’s “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” features Rafe Santori and Ellie Blake, former lovers with incredible chemistry, with time and space and the military standing between them. But chance brings them together for a romantic blizzard-wrought trip back to Chicago, cementing their long-standing love. Rock’s “If Only In My Dreams” also features two stranded military individuals: the recovering Aiden Cross and his sexy medic Lily Munroe, who are holed up in a B&B after being grounded on re-entry to the U.S. Foley’s “Presents Under the Tree” is a promising tale about the reunion of Las Vegas show producer Ari Demakis and her husband, Air Force Captain Dylan Rivera, whom she impulsively married in a drive-through chapel four months ago. Two out of three short stories in this Christmas collection are enticing, but the last story’s study in poor communication proves to be more annoying than it is charming.
