SOLDIER’S LAST STAND (4.5) by Cindy Dees: Navy Commander Brady Hathaway reluctantly recruits civilian Eve Dupont to infiltrate a terrorist cell responsible for a deadly nightclub bombing. The suspected mastermind is the former girlfriend of Eve’s deceased brother, who was killed while committing an act of terror. Eve has been under government surveillance ever since, and Brady promises her a return to solitude if she helps with his investigation. Brady and Eve wrangle to man-ipulate one another, but soon they discover mutual respect and attraction. This action-packed novel is well plotted, with intriguing characters and steamy romantic tension.
