SOUTH BEACH CHICAS CATCH THEIR MAN
This is somewhat different from
the typical chick lit novel, where
the motive is often to land a man.
Here, there's a murder to be investigated. Some questions that arise are not fully addressed, but the reader has the opportunity to learn a bit of Spanish along the way.
Sylvia Amenabar is trying to establish a reputation as a top-notch journalist and doesn't have time for a relationship. But she's fighting a growing attraction to Carlos -- the sexy cop who saved her life. Still, she doesn't want to end up with a broken heart
like her mother did after Sylvia's father abandoned them.
Putting a strain on Sylvia and Carlos is the fact that she's investigating him about the shooting of a fellow cop. Carlos insists she stop researching her story, but is it because he's guilty, or because it's destroying their relationship? Will Sylvia prove that all men are dogs, or is a happily-ever-after possible? (DOWNTOWN, Sep., 304 pp., $14.00)
