SPRINKLE WITH MURDER
by Jennifer McKinlay

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

This first Cupcake Bakery mystery is a delicious addition to the many cozy series involving food. Besides including mouthwatering cupcake recipes, McKinlay writes a good story. She has started her series with a strong foundation: likable characters who will grow as the series develops.

Best friends and business partners Melanie Cooper and Angie DeLaura have realized their dream of starting their own business, Fairy Tale Cupcakes. Their first big job: Bake 500 cupcakes for the wedding of their childhood friend and main investor, Tate Harper, to fashion designer Christie Stevens. Unfortunately, Melanie and Angie can't stand the demanding and obnoxious Christie. When she turns up dead, police suspect that she was killed by a secret ingredient in the cupcakes. Melanie becomes the No. 1 suspect, which means Melanie and Angie have to find the real killer before their new business goes kaput and Melanie ends up in jail.
