Hall delights with another Puzzle Lady mystery as crossword puzzle guru Cora Felton goes on tour in Connecticut to promote a breakfast cereal. When former high school admirer Freddy Fosterfield turns up at her various publicity appearances, Cora fears she's being stalked, especially after a woman on her tour is murdered.

The list of suspects is vast and includes the abusive ex-husband of Cora's niece and companion, Sherry. Could Dennis be the killer, or could it be Quentin Burns, the overbearing producer of Cora's tour?

Cora is an eccentric, no-nonsense character who steals the show with her colorful antics and astute observations. While this novel has a cozy feel, the suspense is much more riveting than in your typical cozy. (Nov., 320 pp., $24.00)
