Echols begins her Stargazer series by introducing readers to the world of celebrities and the publicists and public relations firms behind them. The narrative is strong, the conflict and chemistry between the two main characters is solid and snappy dialogue peppers the story. Though entertaining, a lukewarm plot makes the shine of this enjoyable story not quite as bright.

In a last-ditch effort to save her job, celebrity publicist Wendy Mann takes on wayward megastar actress Lorelei Vogel as a client and is off to Vegas. Fellow publicist and rival Daniel Blackstone is in Vegas, too, dealing with his own obnoxious client, actor Colton Farr — who also happens to be Lorelei’s ex. Dreading the connection, Wendy bumps into Daniel and sparks fly, much to her chagrin. When their lives are threatened, things take a serious turn, and Daniel’s priority becomes keeping Wendy safe.
