Elisha Reed, senior publishing house editor, never married or had children. She loves her job, despite the long hours and stress, and has her widowed brother and his two children in her life. Being assigned to help the handsome but impossible-to-work-with ex-Navy SEAL and author Ryan Sutherland is just another challenge. But then tragedy strikes and Elisha finds herself balancing a life she never expected,
a life quickly spinning out of control. Is Ryan too much complication at this point, or did she underestimate him? Starting From Scratch (3) by Marie Ferrarella shows a sympathetic woman who has to decide how to meet the most traumatic event in her life in this enjoyable book. The beginning is slow, but, after Ryan is
on the scene, the pace picks up. Earlier conflict in the book would have added some excitement.
