STATE'S EVIDENCE
by R. Barri Flowers

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Multicultural

RT Rating

Assistant District Attorney Beverly Mendoza is prosecuting a case involving the murder of a judge and the sexual assault of his wife, who becomes the key witness. The prime suspect is a convicted criminal, recently released from prison, who had a grudge against the judge.

But just when it looks like an open-and-shut case, another man, career criminal Manuel Gonzalez, who's been arrested for the murder of a young woman, confesses to killing the judge.
As the cases intertwine, Beverly must
try to sort out the truth from the lies.

Newly appointed judge Grant Nunez
not only has to rule over Beverly's case, he's also her lover, which leads to some questions on her part when he asks
her not to dig too far in the murdered judge's past.

This is an intriguing story of murder, madness and mayhem, with a slight blend of mystery. Flowers depicts
believable characters in this suspenseful legal thriller. He also gives the reader a detailed look into Beverly's relationship with her son and her intimate feelings about Grant. An engrossing and, at times, erotic read. (Apr., 384 pp., $6.99)
