STEELHANDS
by Jaida Jones, Danielle Bennett

Genre: Fantasy, General Fantasy

RT Rating

Jones and Bennett return with another entry in their dragon epic. Four first-person narratives weave throughout the novel, each voice delightfully distinct. Newcomers may miss the more subtle strands of this story, but won’t be wholly lost as new, likable characters and curious situations keep the story, and the world, moving ever forward.

The war between Volstov and Ke-Han is over and soldiers return to the everyday world. While diplomacy is never easy, it is complicated by rumors that a dangerous magic believed forgotten is being used again. Is Volstov’s ruler trying to resurrect the Dragon Corps by any means possible? Ex-Chief Sergeant of the Dragon Corps Owen Adamo is pulled into the mystery when his students begin to fall ill and disappear. When one student brings her concerns to him, she sets world-changing events in motion — events that will have a stunning, personal consequence for her. (SPECTRA, Aug., 448 pp., $26.00)
