STERN (3) by Brenda Jackson: Tomboy Jovonnie “JoJo” Jones goes to best friend Stern Westmoreland for advice on how to snag a man. Unaware of her feelings for him, Stern suggests a makeover and a little “practice” in the kissing department. Even with Stern’s “help,” JoJo decides it would be best to go for another guy. However, now that he’s tasted JoJo’s sweet lips, Stern has come to a decision of his own: Makeover or not, he wants JoJo for himself. Rounding out a new trilogy by Jackson, Stern proves, once more, that a good Westmoreland man is hard to resist. Although the story moves slowly at first, the plot heats up quickly and rather nicely in the second half.
