When FBI agent Jo Clarin is assigned Troy Vistonie's kidnapping case, she has no idea that the dashing NASCAR driver is about to take her for the ride of her life.

Monet's novel starts out fast and never slows down. The mystery behind Troy's kidnapping and torture is logical and well-paced. The tension mounts as Jo and her team of investigators take Troy back to the crime scene to discover the motivation behind his abduction.

Jo and Troy are drawn together by their shared history of personal abuse. When Jo bares her scars from the abuse she suffered as a child, Troy knows he can trust her with the painful details of his own torture.

This story is well organized and the characters are compelling. The subplot about Jo's volunteer work at a children's shelter fits beautifully into the romantic ending of the story. (dl $5.95)
