A STONE CREEK CHRISTMAS
Veterinarian Olivia O'Ballivan and builder Tanner Quinn clash from the get-go, but since they have to work together on a new animal shelter, they try to get along. Their issues make harmony difficult: Tanner's consumed by guilt over his late wife's death and is overprotective of his teenage daughter -- and his own heart. Olivia wants a family of her own but has a problem with intimacy. Of course, none of this stops them from falling in love. Linda Lael Miller's A Stone Creek Christmas (3) has its own whimsical charm -- Olivia literally talks to her animal patients -- but the subplots overpower the romance, and Olivia's dog gets the best dialogue.
