Book Review

BEFORE THE STORM
by Melanie Schuster

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Multicultural

RT Rating

The Deveraux family saga continues in this very romantic story. An older couple finds true love and passion, as a young couple learn a long-buried secret that changes their lives. Great sex, multi-strand storylines, moving characters and vivid emotion all combine to make this a compelling book.

When TV hostess Paris Deveraux received threatening letters, investigator Titus Argonne was hired to protect her, and they were soon engaged. With love in the air, Paris arranges a meeting between her widowed father, Julian, and her older friend Ruth Bennett, and soon they are dating. But does Ruth want to change her life at her age?

Paris also meets her former sister- in-law Maya, who seems to still be in love with Paris' brother, five years after their divorce. Now Paris is determined to find out what happened between them. Secrets are revealed and lives changed as Hurricane Katrina roars into New Orleans. (KIMANI/ARABESQUE, Jan., 256 pp., $6.99)
