Book Review

by Jean Johnson

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy

RT Rating

In the previous Sons of Destiny novel, Johnson explored events from the perspective of the fifth brother and his destined mate. In this new book, the same events are viewed from two different players' perspectives. Secrets are finally revealed as Rydan, the most mysterious of the brothers, is forced to meet his destiny. Johnson has made this world and her characters truly memorable and well worth each and every visit.

As Guardian of the Nightfall Fountain, Rydan prefers his isolation to the pain inflicted by being surrounded by crowds. That isolation is shattered by the unexpected arrival of twins Rora and Mara. Rora may be his destined mate, but she also carries a powerful secret that has forced the sisters to flee. While Rora and Rydan get off to a rocky start, her ability to see how emotions attack him may be the first step to helping him heal. Unfortunately, the danger Rora hoped she left behind is doggedly tracking her. (BERKLEY SENSATION, Sep., 352 pp., $14.00)
