STRAIGHT FROM THE HIP
by Susan Mallery

Genre: Contemporary Romance, General Contemporary Romance

RT Rating

The third of back-to-back releases from Mallery focuses on the fallout from Izzy's injuries. Not being valued by her father has left this heroine with an interesting mixture of self-confidence and low self-worth. Snappy dialogue is something Mallery excels at, and considering the heroine's testy frame of mind, it can be humorous. Mallery never disappoints!

The explosion on the oil platform took both Izzy Titan's vision and her confidence. Was half-brother Garth responsible? Although there's a surgical procedure that could restore her sight, if it fails, the blindness would be permanent, and Izzy is paralyzed by fear. At their wits' end, Izzy's sisters Skye and Lexie hire survivor training specialist Nick Hollister to kidnap Izzy and take her to his ranch. Izzy is furious, but despite herself, she starts to enjoy working with horses again. Then there's Nick, who drives Izzy crazy but whom she also finds highly attractive. But unbeknownst to the sisters, Nick has a connection to vengeance-driven Garth. (HQN, Jul., 336 pp., $7.99)
